| 1. Do not defame or in any way ridicule Mist, MSX, or it's Admin's/Moderators.
This is a great way to end up on the shit list. Posting things like "Maz ur so cool except when u suck!" may seem funny but once a Mod sees it you're likely to get hit with a suspension. If you're really unlucky Maz will see it and you'll get a permenant ban. Remember that Mods look out for each other as well as the Admins at MSX. All it takes is one to see you acting up and you're in for a world of hurt. 2. Light flaming is fine, but do not devolve to namecalling. MSX has grown into a great little community in the last few years. We tease, poke fun, and get on each other's nerves. It's natural as a bearded lady, but we like it. Flame away if you see someone acting stupid, just remember not to let it degrade into blatant namecalling. i.e. "You fucking fuckstick. How the hell do you get out of bed every morning being so damn stupid? Go kill yourself." 3. Do not post links or refer to any super leet hack site you've tried in the past. The sad news is that most hack sites include custom trojans or viri. They also are prone to leaving traces on your machine that can result in detection, which to newbies will be associated with Mist. That's not acceptable. If you post something and it shows up as dots (...) then chances are it's going to get you banned. 4. Don't post stupid topic titles. Do not post topics like OMG HELP PLZ!!!! or HAX DETEKTEDED!!!111 or "Help" or "Question". Any topics need to include wtf is wrong with you for support requests and WTF you're talking about for anything else. 5. Post your system specs in your profile All users requesting support need to fill out their system specs by clicking the My Controls link on the forum. you'll see a bunch of areas to tell everyone about your machine. This helps us diagnose any problems you're having with speed and efficiency. 6. Support request MUST be detailed! All support requests also need to include what programs you have running, what version of Mist you're using, and what you've done to try to fix the problem so far. Also see rule number 5. 7. Learn quickly when you're in trouble. If you post a topic and it's deleted, or make a post and it's removed, or get banned from Vent, that's a warning. Take it and learn. PM a mod if you would like to know more. Never, ever post in the open forum about it. And do NOT spam the inbox of the mod on duty with 300 messages about why you should be able to post whatever it was. That'll result in your getting banned. No warning included. 8. Use the search button. Before you post on MSX make sure you've tried to find out if it's already been answered. We know you pay to be here but we're not a billion dollar company. We don't offer support. We offer a forum with a search function AND a knowledgebase. WTF do you expect? Be thankful for everything you get. 9. Grow thick skin. Here's a life lesson - People might get harsh with you. If it's over the line a mod will step in and they'll be warned. If that doesn't happen you should take it as you would a brother teasing you. We're all one big happy family here and we tend to tease like one. Toughen up and you'll find out MSX is the best forum you've ever visited. 10. Don't request hacks or website/email attacks. Don't ask someone/everyone to write you a custom hack, hack a website or hack an email address for you. Hacks take a long time to perfect and usually cost a lot of money to produce. As for the others, well...Public defacement of a website is a federal offense. Don't be stupid. Go have a beer and thank your lucky stars that you're not in a federal prison with a fat toad giving you 18 inches of love meat. 11. Don't spam the forum. Don't spam the forums just to see a bigger post count by your name. Spamming will result in an immediate 2 day suspension or a full out ban depending on the mood of the first mod to see your dumbass posts. We know you have lots to say, just make sure it's relevant and not annoying. |
